Training Sites, Mult-tabling and Grinding

After getting frustrated with the direction my game has been going lately, I signed up for a membership at deucescracked.com. They are one of the only training sites that does not have a sign up fee and they have a seven day trial. I took full advantage of the trial and watched a number of videos, particularly a SNG series (Real Life Micro SNG Grinder) by Vandweller. Hearing Vandweller coach a player that I consider in the same situation as myself was very enlightening. I picked up so much good information that I was able to put to use rather quickly. It all seemed to just click. It helped me understand why I was unable to multitable with any real success. I was over thinking my hands in the early rounds. The most tables I have ever played was three and maybe four but I was only comfortable with two. After watching a few videos in the series I tried four then six. I have to say I can now comfortably six table. My ROI in the first six table session was 87.5% (not too shabby). While I have always been one to read the latest in poker lit, I have found the training site videos to be a useful tool in extended my poker knowledge. I am now also experimenting with Holdem Manager to see how this software can help me find and close leaks in my game. I have finally come to the conclusion that while I have been playing seriously for a long time I was really only a casual player online, NOW I am making the change to being a grinder. As a casual player I will never be profitable to the degree that I have money to spend. My goal is to be profitable and have money to spend. After I absorb all that I have learned fully, I plan to continue my use of DC and the great videos they offer.

Poker Bling and AIPS Tourneys on Full Tilt

Have you ever wanted some poker bling to intimidate your opponents at the poker table? Well now is your chance. You could buy one but it would feel so much better if you won one from PokerBling.com's weekly tourney on Full Tilt. The tourney runs most Tuesdays at 9PM EST. This is a $10+1 Knockout Tourney. It is usually a small field of players. Go to their site for more information. You will probably see All In Reed or OutlawJesco playing in these when available.

Another great tournament series is the Ante Up! AIPS events. This is a year long set of tournaments with a mix of all the games we love to play. If any of you guys have not checked out Ante Up (
2007 Best Poker Podcast, Bluff Magazine Readers Choice Awards) then you don't know what you're missing. Make it your goal this month to start listening to these guys. There are more than 138 episodes of poker info, tips and interviews with top poker professionals. Start by listening to the current episodes and then go back and listen from the beginning. Reed and I have been listening to these guys for almost two years.

Good luck and we'll see you at the tables.

Ship It!!!

Sean just won the $3 Rebuy tournament for the 2nd time on Full Tilt Poker. His win was good for $1,178.10 . This is his 5th overall $3 rebuy victory online over the last 12 months making him a $3 rebuy specialist!

He stayed in top 3-5 for the last two hours until his QQ was beat by A10 on river. From then on he had to grind his way to the FT. At the FT, Sean came in 7th in chip count. He grinded, pushed a couple of times and ended up catching a BB special by flopping a set that got paid off. He then proceeded to bust 4 of the remaining players.

Heads up play lasted 4 hands, as the other player kept asking to make a deal. Sean refused and then got a monster hand 24off. He raised 3x and got re-raised. Figuring his opponent probably had an AX he called. The flop came 478. Sean checked raised all-in with his pair of 4's w/ 2 kicker. He was instacalled with AK and the 4's held for the win.

Big Week for ReedMoney!

I am in the middle of the best week of my poker career.

Wednesday- Won a $30+3 tourney for $2902.

Friday- 4th in Stars $5.50 tourney for $372.

Saturday- 14th place FTP's nightly $26k GTD. and finished 14th for $272. Suffered two horrible beats with 15 people left when I was chip leader.

Sunday- Won the Stars $10+1 $15k GTD. for $5664.

Finally, with cash games, SnG's and MTT's I have profited just shy of $10,000 in 5 days online. I can't wait to see what the next two days bring. However, I am alittle tired though.
