Reed Poker Online 01/31 Results

Record turnout for the 2nd online tourney on FTP with 6 players.Due to FTP’s payout structure it paid 3 places.

Now onto the knockouts…

About 15 minutes into play Trinity “Outlaw Jesco”, Matt “mukraven” and Justin “J21FLUSH” all limp into a pot. The flop comes A83 w/ all calling $80 to see turn. OutlawJesco re-raises all-in and J21FLUSH calls. Trinity shows a set of 3’s only to be behind to Justin’s set of slow played A’s. Trinity danced his way to the online rail in 6th place.

A couple of hands later, Jeff “Harley1998” and Brian “car_guy_67” got all-in pre-flop. Jeff turns up 88 and Brian shows 1010. Brian’s pocket 10’s held up and sent Jeff to riding off into the sunset in 5th place.

Players really tighten up for the next hour and fifteen minutes. Finally, Justin and Sean “All In Reed” end up all-in post-flop both being the short stacks. Flop was 510J and Justin shows J8 and Sean loosely calls with Q10. Sean suck outs w/ a 10 on the river to flush Justin’s hopes of cashing in his first event. Justin finishes in 4th place.

After Brian’s Q10 doubles up against Sean’s A4, the next hand an extremely short stack Sean pushes w/ A3 and Brian calls with 22. The 2’s held and Sean is all out in 3rd place for a $6 cash.

We’re now heads up w/ last week’s champ Matt and Event #1’s champ Brian. I couldn’t get the hand history on their hands. Brian ended up needing a tune-up and sputtered his way to a 2nd place finish and cash of $9.

Once again, Matt wins the online tourney for $15. Congrats Matt!

Wed 01/24 Online FTP Poker Results

We had a total of 3 players for Wed's FTP game. Matt (mukraven), Aaron(Sleepy Norm) and Trinity (outlawjesco).Aaron brought his A game and took an early lead with some good hands. The chips bounced back and forth for about an hour. Trinity raised and Matt reraised to put Trinity all in (600). T(A3) M(99) board (KKK28) Matt thus finished Trinity off. At break, Matt was the chip leader with 3,100 and Aaron had 1,400.

Aaron fought back like a champion, while Matt held the lead like a pro. After many all ins, Aaron pushs after the flop again. Aaron (48) Matt (K8) board (484) Aaron all in Matt calls. Aaron takes pot down for 3,200 leaving matt with about 1,300. With Aaron on a flush draw, Matt takes back the lead hands later with pocket 9s.

Matt finished Aaron off with 65 against Q4 with the board (26487)
(1h 24min)

Congratulation Matt(mukraven), who won the $15 prize pool!

Don't forget we will have another game next week same time. (Wed 9pm) see below on the blog for details. I have also added a Online Tourney page to the website

Also check out the websites new page (Screen Names) to see who people are online and where they are playing.

How to Deposit Money Online Now...

Life after Neteller...As many of you know Neteller and Click2Pay* are not taking U.S. money anymore. The option that is left is ePassport.com. The only drawback seems to be the fee ($5 per $100)So,if you deposit $50 to epassport you have $45 available. I used it tonite to deposit to FTP. I was able to complete the sign up and have the money in Full Tilt in under 10 minutes. Although I did not like the fees, we gotta pay to play until the government comes to their senses and allows online poker deposits. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me.

UPDATE: I have been informed some VISA cards will allow you to deposit directly to the site without fees. Although you may not be able to withdraw it directly back to your card. (Have not heard one way or another) But you can have them cut you a check for your winnings.

Another RPL Member has a Big Cash!

Matt R. currently in 2nd place for Player of the Year had a HUGE cash online last week. Matt played in the Mansion Poker $100K Gtd. tournament friday night which had 471 entrants. Matt grinded his way to the final table and finished in 5th place. 5th place was good enough for a cash of $6,000.

Congrats Matt!!

ReedMoney Takes Down the $10 Rebuy!

Sean "ReedMoney" takes down another tournament on Absolute Poker tonight. He beat 120 other players in $10 Rebuy to win almost $1100. It shows our home game is pretty tough because he hasn't cashed in the last 4-5 home games.

Neteller No More

I checked my email this evening only to find an email from Bodog letting me know that they no long take Neteller. While I do not play at Bodog any longer, I was still curious as to why not. Last I had heard it may be as late as the end of the summer before Neteller would suspend U.S. usage because of the UIGEA. I logged on to both Absolute Poker and Pokerstars. While Pokerstars did not have anything on there site (they actually still had it as an option), Absolute had a small note in the deposit section that read:

Neteller is no longer offering its services to US customers.

I then went to Poker News to find the following article:
Neteller Founders Charged with Money Laundering Conspiracy

After reading the article, it is as I suspected. The US government is using some crazy laundering law to hold these guys because they transfered monies from US to offshore to gambling sites. By the way, these guys have not even worked with/for Neteller for a couple of years.

The funny thing about all of this is I had about $25 still sitting in Neteller from about 4 months ago, until Sat 01/13 when I moved it to Absolute. I guess I will now have to find another way to deposit money into my poker sites.

Reed Poker Room Event #1

We had a great first event and we want to thank all those that could make it out Saturday night. Event #1 had 12 players which is a record number for the Reed Poker Room. Cards were in the air just after 6 p.m. as scheduled.

By 2nd session, the two tables of 6 were able to break down to one with ten players remaining.

It got down to the final three a little after 10 p.m. with Brian, Matt and Anthony still going strong. Short stacked Anthony pushed all-in in the dark with Matt quickly calling, since Anthony could have had any two cards. Anthony turns over AA to Matt's 10d6d* flop comes XdAdX turn come Xx and the flop Jd to give Matt the flush against Anthony's trip Aces. This was the first time all night pocket Aces were busted. Anthony finished 3rd for $80.

After much battling back and forth it came down to the final hand Matt ($11,500) pushing all-in with KdAc. Brian ($108,500) called with 5c6c. The flop pretty much sealed the night with Qs 6h 6s with 7s Xs on the turn and river.

Matt finished 2nd for $130 and Brian took home 1st with $210 and the event bracelet.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone for playing.

* not 100% sure of the cards except that they were diamonds which was the main thing in this hand

The New Year, A New Site

As the webmaster, I thought it would be cool to also have a blog we could all comment to and talk crap about how great a poker player we all are. At the same time we might actually share a bit of poker wisdom that someone can use. Enjoy.
