RPO #27 Results

Tonights game of Omaha H/L PL was a first for the Reed Poker League. Action started slow. Thanks to DSL, Sean was able to connect long enough to see himself go out after about 30 min of play. Matt managed to hold the lead for some time. After the break Trinity was able to take out Jeff with two pair against Jeff's pair to take the lead.

In the money, play became a bit more aggressive with Trinity, Matt and Brian. Brian took a big pot off of Trinity to take the lead for the remainder of the game. Trinity and Matt were both low on chips and faced off two hands in a row all in. They split both pots with one on the high and the other on the low. Trinity goes out after an hour and 35 min of play.

Heads up play begins with Brian with about a 10:1 chip lead to Matt. Two minutes later the game is over with the RPO points leader (Brian) taking down another week.
5th - Sean
4th - Jeff
3rd - Trinity ($5)
2nd - Matt ($7.50)
Champion - Brian (12.50)

RPL Event #7 Results!

Event #7

We had a great turnout of 13 players buying in for $40 last night. Play started off as usual with small pot poker, then we hear the words “all-in”. The words came from table two where the brother-in-law’s Trinity and Adam had both hit monsters on the flop. Trinity’s AK and Adam’s 66 hit big on the flop of KK6. Trinity had 3 A’s and one K to win the pot. Neither hit and was busted. Adam’s in typical fashion assumes the early chip lead.

Moments later, table one exploded with 3 all-ins post flop. Derrick had both players covered and had set of 4’s. Aaron had top two pair and Chris had bottom two pair on the flop of 10-5-4. Derrick’s set holds up and he gets the chip lead.

Play is now down to 10 players and we redraw

for seats and button at the final table.

· Brian who seemed to be struggling to catch cards decides to gamble and gets called by Aris who finishes him off.
· Next man down was newcomer Steve.
· Tom tries to steal the blinds and gets a call from Jeff. Jeff’s hand holds up and Tom is done for the evening.
· Derrick who had a big stack, but kept getting “1-up’d” in almost every pot finally pushed with his QQ. Jeff calls with AK and it hits to bust Derrick.
· Matt makes a raise w/ AQ and Mitch calls it w/ A4. The flop comes A4x and all the money goes in before the turn. Matt can’t catch a Q or other pair and finishes in 6th place.
· Play continues until Jeff raises from the button and Sean goes into the tank then calls w/ 66. Jeff shows over cards, but they do not hit. Jeff finishes on the bubble.
· Adam, who took some big hits to his stack eventually, gets it all-in vs. Mitch. Mitch’s hand is a winner and 3-time champ Adam finishes 4th for $50.
· Play continued 3-handed for a while, then Aris shoves and states that he had nothing, but wants a call. Mitch obliges by calling 56 and Aris shows 97. When all 5 cards are dealt Mitch has a full house to Aris’ straight. Aris takes home $80 for 3rd place.

Heads-up play

Somehow both of the short stacks when blinds were 600/1200 survived to the final two players. Mitch had about $4,000 and Sean $2,700 at one time during previous levels. Blinds increased to 3000/6000 and Sean was well behind with $38k to Mitch’s $110k+. They were playing for a bracelet, $210 and bragging rights, so no deal was even spoke of. Mitch continued his aggressive all-in style and finally Sean caught a couple of hands to take the chip lead. It went back and forth for several hands. Finally, Mitch goes all-in preflop w/ Qc2c and Sean instacalls with AK. The flop brings 106K, but with 2 clubs. The turn is the Ac to give Mitch his flush and Sean needs an A or K for a boat. No boat and Sean takes 2nd place for $120.

Mitch in his first RPL event wins $210 and a bracelet.
