Daniels Heads-Up Continues...
Last night, Sean and Chris S. both played their opponents in the first round of the HU Championship. Chris won his first match and lost the second one. However, he did win the last one when his opponent moved in on Chris when Chris had "pocket rockets". Game over, nice job Chris. Chris and Trinity will now play each other in round 2.
Sean's match was a long one with the first one lasting over an hour. Sean finally trapped his foe w/ a set of 2's for the win. The second match saw alot of action again, but Sean eventually lost it on a draw. The final and deciding match lasted just a few hands after Sean crippled his opponent on the 3rd hand of play. Sean hit a K with K7 vs. Doug's A4 and took the victory.
Brian and Jeff are the remaining RPL players scheduled to play their 1st round matches.
More to come next week!

Daniels Heads Up Tourney has begun.
Today, I played the first round of my bracket in the Heads Up Tournament sponsored by the Daniels Poker League. As the exception to the day, two of my three games where more than an hour long (with the other lasting less than the first blind session). It was a good match with me playing Greg Loggins. I managed my chips well in all three and usually had the lead, but I got caught up in a hand that hurt my stack badly to give Greg the win in the first game after well over an hour. The second game was over in under 20 min with me easily taking that one down.
The third round was as grueling as the first with me tearing Greg down and then building him back up on more than one occasion. The final hand was one for the books for sure... On the button I had 95 and I raised preflop. The flop brought 9-5-5. Feeling comfortable here I slowed down to allow Greg to get there only he must have hit since he check raised me. I just called. The turn made the board 9-5-5-Q. Greg bet out and I pushed my remaining stack (which was not alot since we were almost even before this hand)putting Greg all in. He shows a set of fives with a 4 kicker. And the game is over on a great hand (for me, no so much for Greg). Good game Greg...
Now it's off to the next bracket!
For the rest of you guys playing in the tourney from the Reed Poker League. Get with Chris S. or Chris D. to schedule your game. The schedule is flexible and open to week nights as well as weekend play. If you need to contact them call or email me and I will get you in touch with a Chris.
In case you did not know... If you win your first round bracket, you get $25 of your buyin back, and I think second bracket pays additional $50. cheers.

Terrific Tuesday!
Double whammy!!!
Sean played two MTT's on Absolute Poker Tuesday night while out of town for work and won both of them. The first win was a $5 mtt with 250 players good for $284 in winnings. The second one was the nightly $3 rebuy that had 730 players in it. This victory was a nice one for $1,840. This is his 6th $3 rebuy win in alittle over 12 months.

Sean cashes in HUGE online tourney!
Sean finishes in the money of the of FTOPS Main Event that had a $2.645 million prize pool. The buy-in was $535, but Sean won his seat for $31 in a satellite. He finished 256th out of 5,291 players for $1,375.66. He got to as low a 1.5 bb's 3 hours into play, then grinded all the way back to play for about 2.5 more hours.
Unfortunately, the races were lost late in play when AK vs. 99 and AK vs. 66.
First place was in excess of $444,000. Damn!

Poker Bling and AIPS Tourneys on Full Tilt
Have you ever wanted some poker bling to intimidate your opponents at the poker table? Well now is your chance. You could buy one but it would feel so much better if you won one from PokerBling.com's weekly tourney on Full Tilt. The tourney runs most Tuesdays at 9PM EST. This is a $10+1 Knockout Tourney. It is usually a small field of players. Go to their site for more information. You will probably see All In Reed or OutlawJesco playing in these when available.
Another great tournament series is the Ante Up! AIPS events. This is a year long set of tournaments with a mix of all the games we love to play. If any of you guys have not checked out Ante Up (2007 Best Poker Podcast, Bluff Magazine Readers Choice Awards) then you don't know what you're missing. Make it your goal this month to start listening to these guys. There are more than 138 episodes of poker info, tips and interviews with top poker professionals. Start by listening to the current episodes and then go back and listen from the beginning. Reed and I have been listening to these guys for almost two years.
Good luck and we'll see you at the tables.

Poker's own version of MySpace/Facebook
After an episode of Ante Up, Sean and I became aware of a new social network for poker players. Check out PokerPlayersSocialNetwork. It is full of pros and joes.
Also, ReedPoker has added a new feature to make signing up for Home games much easier. In the right column under SIGN UP you can select from the live game list and it will open an prepared email that goes directly to us.
