April Event #4 Results!

Last night we had 9 players show up for Event #4. The buy-in was $40 and it paid out 3 places. Action started quickly as Travis, Matt and Trinity got involved in a huge pot early. Travis was all-in w/ KJ, Trinity with nut flush draw and Matt w/ KQ (two pair). Matt's KQ held and he assumed a significant chip lead. Less than 10 minutes later, Mike's big draw could not hit and got crippled by Adam's set of 9's. Play resumed 7 handed for about an hour and a half. Sean was short-stacked in SB and only Brian left to act in BB. Sean's A7 couldn't beat Brian's A9. Just minutes later we had 3-way pot with w/ 2 all-ins. Chris' 66, Brian's QQ and Trinity's J9 with a 6 hitting the flop. Chris took down a nice pot and eliminated Trinity. Bad beat of the night came when Jeff pushed w/ AQ and Brian called w/ KQ. The flop came 10109 w/ turn being a blank, but the river brought a J to send Jeff to the rail. After 20 minutes of play, Matt shoved UTG with 44 to be instacalled by Chris with 66. The 6's held and Matt finished on the infamous "bubble".

Now with the final 3 players guaranteed a profit play really loosened up. Adam took down a big pot from Chris which neither player had a pair. That play hurt Chris and eventually led to his 3rd place finish. A chop talk started w/ Brian and Adam HU. They decided to play for 10-15 more minutes, then decided to do a even chop. Adam held the chip lead at the time of the chop, so he won the bracelet and first place points.
